Join us on a tour of the Washington County Humane Society on Wednesday, October 30 beginning at 6:30. We’ll be learning a little bit about the non-profit world, taking care of animals and learning their routines, and checking out the veterinary clinic on site. Get ready and dress in your best…Halloween costume that is, for this years Spooktacular Halloween Extravaganza! Hosted at the Hampton Inn and Suites, Big Brothers Big Sisters will be having their annual Halloween party for our Bigs and Littles. Matches are encouraged to wear a costume (yes, both Bigs and Littles) and try to win themselves a prize for the Costume Contest.

Matches will be able to carve and decorate pumpkins together, participate in activities, and games to go with our Halloween fun.

Pizza, juice and water will be served.

Craft Club will be painting a fun Fall picture on canvas’ on Thursday, September 19 from 6:00-8:00PM. While we have chosen the image of creation, you get to make it your own by choosing your colors.

iSucceed is a monthly program that brings our Matches together to learn about careers and life skills from members of our community.  This program supports our Littles in exploring a variety of career paths. 

Orientation Night will be held on Thursday, September 12 from 6:00-7:00PM where Matches can learn more about what this wonderful program has to offer.

This inaugural family friendly fundraising event will celebrate 55 years of one-to-one mentoring in Washington County. Big Brothers Big Sisters is part of one of largest donor and volunteer supported mentoring networks in the country which makes meaningful, monitored matches between adult volunteers (Bigs) and children (Littles). Our agency's very first Big Brother, Mike Bloedorn will make the first putt with his Little Brother, Dale! Mike was matched with Dale in 1969 and they are still active in each other's lives today! There are various ticket packages that meet different family’s interests and sizes.  Have a little extra fun by partaking in our Out of Bounds games that will be available and enter to win one of fantastic raffle baskets.

Join the Farmers Market Challenge at 9:30AM on Saturday, July 20 and see how much your money is worth. Matches will be given a sum of money to use at the farmers market where they will have to find the ingredients to make a meal for two.

The celebration will be held on June 23 from 11:00AM-2:00PM at Folk Song Farm.

Enjoy an early morning of fishing on a charter boat on Sunday, June 9th at 5:30AM at the Port Washington Marina. Lunch will be provided after fishing. Little should be 10 years or older. Big (any Little’s 16 or older) will need a fishing license with a salmon/trout stamp. Space is limited.

Grab your partner, and in 5, 4, 3…we will scavenge all of Washington County. Go on an adventure together by completing everything on your scavenger hunt list from getting a scoop of ice cream, to taking pictures with frogs. Get to learn what fun there is to discover throughout our very own county.

Matches will have 3 hours to complete as many tasks as they can before meeting back at the BBBS office where we will enjoy some lunch and check out what everyone did. The match who completes the most amount of tasks will receive a prize at the end! Game on and good luck!

Ending the Silence is designed for children and parents/mentors of children in middle or high school that includes warning signs, facts and statistics and how to get help for themselves or someone they love. Research has shown that NAMI Ending the Silence for Students is effective in changing middle and high school students’ knowledge and attitudes toward mental health conditions and toward seeking help. It teaches adults how to work and talk with children and families of someone suffering with mental health.
